OPEN MIC:

Honestly, I probably would just explain the gospel to the world, because I feel like there’s a lot of people in the world that grow up, they don’t hear the gospel. And I truly feel that if they did hear the gospel – if they heard it correctly – a lot of people would actually want that. I would explain to them that here you have a God that loves you so much that he sent his one and only son to die for every sin you have committed and will commit, and in order for you to receive that is not by your works or not by any of your doings, but by truly believing that and confessing your sin, and like your record is literally wiped and you can’t lose that. It’s just crazy. So, I think people, if people truly would hear that, I think they would… you would have a whole bunch of lives changed and I think a lot of more people would just like want that, you know,  because it would just eliminate a whole bunch of pride, one, and two, depression by trying to do all these things in order to receive salvation.

THE DREAM:

My dream is to be a head football coach at a D1 college, and not only just be a head coach, but be a head coach and make impact in, you know, 18 – 24 year old young men’s lives by instilling a great… making sure I also have a great chaplain or chaplain program to where making sure, like, these kids are getting sound doctrine in the gospel and helping them out in their life outside football as well. I see that. So, a bigger impact in their life, as far as that: football related, non-football related/life related…

I would also like to create a big center or organization where high school, starting out in high school, kids can come to a certain location where there’s computers, offices where they can do their homework, there’s a gym, there’s a fitness center, and we have teachers ready on deck to tutor them and help them out. And also, I would be able to help them with their life spiritually, and it’s just a place where the young men can come, and learn how to, one, be diligent, be respectful—especially towards women, learn how to treat women right— and learn about Jesus. And I would call it Serve to Lead One because in order to be leaders like men are already called to be, you first have to learn how to serve, so that would be the biggest thing I would instill in them, is learning how to be servants. Serve your brother, serve your sister, serve people that you don’t even know, then when you get married, learn how to serve your wife. So, that’s what I would call it, Serve to Lead One. That’s my dream right there.

THE STRUGGLE:

My biggest struggle is believing or realizing that Jesus is enough. With everything, ads, commercials… like everywhere you look TV or media or even people are telling you you need this and you need that, and you always feel like you don’t have enough, or you’re not, you know... that certain things in life just don’t suffice, you know. And not trying to get caught up in temporary things, I mean it can even be family, it can be your girlfriend, it can be your house, your job. Like, making sure that I don’t find satisfaction in those things, but realize that, like, even if everything just drops, like, and all I had was Jesus, I would still have everything. That’s the biggest struggle for me.

WHAT I DO:

So, as far as my occupation and my job, I am a football offensive coordinator at Paul VI. It’s actually the high school that I attended, I attended and graduated from. Outside of that, I’m involved in my church, pretty much.  On Wednesdays I actually help lead the team Bible studies for Temple University's football team, and Fridays every so often when I can, I help out with the youth group at my church.

But, outside of those two things, I like to spend time with my girlfriend and I just like to hang around family, family and friends really.

WHY I DO:

Well, as far as my occupation, first thing, I realized that I’m passionate about it and I love it. It really doesn’t feel like work -- but it is work at the same time. And, it’s something I realize I’m gifted in, so, I figured, you know, whatever you do in life, you gotta be passionate about it and let it be a gift.

Secondly, I…let me see, oh, Bible study. Why I do Bible study and why I’m a part of youth group. I do it because it’s something that I realize that I’ve been called to do, and it’s something that I realize I need to be a part of. When I was in college I began to do the chapels at [my university]… so I guess that when I came back home it kind of just carried over, and my church is really big in just being involved in, you know, ministries and stuff like that so that’s why I do it. And I can easily relate to football players, you know, and I just look forward to, you know, explaining to them the gospel and other things that I learn about God and his word. And it’s fun.

And why do I like to hang out with family? I like to hang out with family because family is extremely important to me. I feel like I’ve learned that as I’ve grown up. My parents have really instilled just like doing family things all the time, and I love that. So, I just like being around family and having a good time, laughing and just being together. There’s nothing like it.
