THE DREAM:

To win a Nobel Prize by the time I’m 25 and to become a doctor by the time I’m 23.

THE STRUGGLE:

Being a black woman in America.

PoB: Why do you say that?

Because being a black woman in America you get no respect. We are killed twice as many times as black men and where are our protests? Where are our hashtags? Why do you not care about us? We have done so many things. Like, we put America on our f***ing– excuse my language –our f***ing backs and we don’t get respect for it. We are stereotyped, always stereotyped as the angry black woman, when we’re not. We are the women who will always persevere for you and we don’t get any respect for it at all. And that’s ridiculous.

WHAT I DO:

I’m a sales associate at [clothing store] and I’m also a photographer.

WHY I DO:

Well for [the clothing store], it’s a really nice company. I love working there. It’s a respectable company, and I love the way the message of the company changed.

And for photography, I’m just passionate about it because everyone has a vision, so photography is my way of showing my vision.

OPEN MIC:

Stay black.
